For the past 10 plus years, Matthew has been working as a senior business broker contributing to successful sales in multiple industries, from manufacturing, franchising, online, retail and all facets of hospitality.

Previous to this role, in Matthew’s 30 year career, he has successfully been hands-on management in the hospitality industry include controlling businesses with multi-million dollar turnovers such as Hamilton Island Resorts and Sizzler Restaurants Australia. He has owned and operated restaurants, cafes, burger joints and coffee carts, as well as catering and retailing businesses.

Matthew’s experience has included concept development, recruitment and management of over 65 staff, budgets, cash flows and forecasts and the development of a franchise system. This experience gives Matthew unique insights into how businesses operate.

In Matthew’s spare time he is a passionate sailor and in a team of 10 took out the prestige’s ‘”Blue water series” of long passage off shore racing.

“Sailing is the closest I can get to the basic elements – its adrenaline, fear, a constant challenge and learning experience, an adventure into the unknown. And of course there is nothing better than wearing the same clothes for days and not washing for a week”.
