Kane Dean has been a business broker with Benchmark Business Sales & Valuations since 2013. He sells businesses in various industries in Australia. He enjoys spending what spare time he has near the water.
Kane’s love of all things marine started at a young age 11, when he moved from the country to the Gold Coast. His first part-time job was at Budds Beach hiring windsurfers and catamarans. His love of the water took him on many adventures, including moving to the Whitsundays and Cairns in his late ‘teens. Working on boats and in the hospitality industry helped Kane develop the love of a good chat, a drink and a fish.
Living aboard (and rebuilding) his house boat in his early 20’s on the Gold Coast led to him restoring a 1955 Bay Cruiser.
At 26, Kane decided that after an enjoyable career in hospitality running hotels (Pier tavern Cairns) and (Tropos) nightclub’s, it was time to make some real money! The sales industry beckoned, and he quickly became a top salesman in both Foxtel and Austar, doing the “hard slog” knocking on doors, and cold calling on people. Kane honed his people/sales skills, and the next natural step was to get into real-estate.
Kane worked for some of the larger companies (Raptis Group & Australand) but something was missing. …… Kane just loved boats, so off he went to work for the Hinterland Group, and Boatarama. But after many years and he decided, (after he got married) that it was not enough to be a salesman he knew that he needed to be a business owner – not an employee.
In 2005, Kane started his business Australian Mobile Property Managers. After all the years of Marine and real-estate experience, Kane decided to work at Benchmark Business Sales & Valuations in the sale of Rent-rolls and marine – based businesses.
Kane is committed to real-estate as he has several investment properties.
His other interests include:
- Boating (obviously)
- Driving his (mint) 1969 Manx Myers Beach Buggy
- People, BBQ’s, Beach, anything outdoors…
- Coffee in peace and quiet (Ssshhh – no kids!) while reading the Financial Review.
